Nhạc
sĩ, ca sĩ Việt Dzũng, tên thật là Nguyễn Ngọc Hùng Dũng qua đời hôm thứ Sáu
20/12/2013 sau một cơn trụy tim, theo báo Người Việt đưa tin. Ông đã sáng tác
ít nhất 400 ca khúc, trong đó có những bài được biết đến nhiều như Chút quà cho
quê hương, Lời kinh đêm, Mời em về.
Lễ
viếng người dẫn chương trình chính của các chương trình Asia
đã diễn ra trong nhiều ngày qua. Ngoài sáng tác, ông cũng làm việc cho các
chương trình của Little Saigon Radio và Bolsa Radio.
Lễ
viếng ông Việt Dzũng được tổ chức ở Peek Family Funeral Home, Westminster , California
Ông
Việt Dzũng sinh năm 1958 tại Sài Gòn, đến sau năm 1975 sang tỵ nạn tại Hoa Kỳ,
theo Đài Á Châu tự do.
Vợ
ông là bà Bébé Vũ Hoàng Anh (người mặc áo trắng). Một buổi lễ tưởng niệm sự
nghiệp của Việt Dzũng cũng được tổ chức sau khi ông qua đời một tuần.
Tối
thứ 6 27/12/2013 (giờ địa phương) nhiều nghệ sĩ và người dân trong cộng đồng
hải ngoại đã đến dự lễ tưởng niệm, tổ chức tại đài truyền hình Saigon
Broadcasting Television Network (SBTN).
Nhạc
sĩ Trúc Hồ, tổng giám đốc đài truyền hình SBTN gọi ông Việt Dzũng là "một
biểu tượng tự do, nhân quyền, và công lý". Lễ an táng được tổ chức tại
nghĩa trang Chúa Chiên Lành (Good Shepherd Cemetery )
